What this is
This site lists well-known open source projects and what their published policies say about AI-assisted or AI-generated contributions. It is informational and takes no position on whether those policies are right.
Policy types
- Banned
- The policy prohibits contributions that are generated by AI tools, in whole or in substantial part.
- Restricted
- AI-assisted contributions are permitted only under conditions, such as mandatory disclosure, limits on scope, or human review requirements.
- Assist allowed
- The policy allows AI assistance, typically while keeping the contributor responsible for the result.
The label follows the wording of the policy text. It is not upgraded or downgraded.
Inclusion threshold
A project is listed if it has at least 5,000 GitHub stars, or if it is widely used infrastructure (a distribution, language runtime, major library, or forge) regardless of stars.
Sources and verification
Every entry links to the official policy text or the page that states it, and quotes the relevant passage verbatim. Each entry shows the date it was last checked, and entries are re-verified over time as policies change.
